Pike/Round Chain Produces Twenty Seven Muskies Lewandowski and Dassow Win

The WMT's Pike/Round Lake Chain tournament produced twenty-seven legal muskies Saturday, June 28th. Favorable weather conditions and water temps assisted the tournament anglers in establishing the second best, one-day tournament, catch of 27 muskies, one behind the all time record of 28 muskies set in 2007 at the North/South Twin Lake tourney. The first muskie of the event would be captured at 6:13am and measured 35 1/4 inches by Jeff Langlois and Kent Stadler, but it didn't take long for the duo to land their second of the contest at 7:24am with a 36 " muskie to overtake the early lead. The next team to double up for the day were Scott Lewandowski and Dan Dassow at 8:07am, when they scored their second muskie of 37 1/2" to add to their first muskie of 41 1/2 inches at 6:41am. At 8:56am, Jim Olson and James Holloway would tally their second muskie of the day with a 38 3/4 incher to go along with their previous fish of 36 inches at 7:38am. Dan and Mike Wojtusik would be the next team to double up for the tourney with a 37 3/4" muskie at 8:02am and a 40 1/4 incher at 12:32pm to overtake second place. When Mark VanRossum and Clay Schmoeker tallied their second muskie of the day at 12:51pm measuring 36 inches, it landed the team a fifth place finish when added to their first fish of 34 3/4" at 7:29am. The father and son team of Frank and Bill Kasowicz caught the last muskie of the contest at 3:50pm, scoring 35 1/2 inches and were also the last team to double for the day with their first coming at 9:25am and 34 inches.

Other teams to score muskies for the one-day event were: Karl Hornung & Doug Vandervest 40 1/4" at 7:21am, Ron & Shirley Golec 43" at 7:45am, Mike Etzel & Paul Parise 39 1/4" at 8:00am, Ken & Keith Krejci 36 1/4" at 8:39am, Greg Majka & Ed Spoerl 38" at 9:31am, Garret Shipman & John Kleczewski 40" at 10:26am, Jared Adamovich & Tim Miller 39 1/2" at 11:20am, Scott & Lauri Cisewski 38" at 12:05pm, Matt McCumber & Rod Moe 39 3/4" at 12:49pm, Tom & Crissie Dassow 34 1/2" at 12:59pm, John Kastner & Scott Gagliano 34 3/4" at 1:16pm, Neil Barnett & Bill Hill 35" at 1:41pm, David & Mike Cummings 38" at 1:58pm, and Marcus Malyuk & Lee Schlais 37 3/4" at 2:43pm.
