Pearson and Dekker Win WMT's Boom Lake Qualifier

The Wisconsin Muskie Tour™ (WMT) Boom Lake "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ tournament on Saturday, August 15th,produced seven muskies for the one day event. The recent area's warming trend didn't result in "hot" action, but most of the teams who participated during the Boom Lake "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ qualifier, reported having several opportunities of catching muskies within the first hour of competition, however only three legals would be registered before 8:00am.

The first muskie to be registered for the day would be captured by the team of Doug Dollhopf and Gary Tutaj at 6:52am with a 41.50". At 7:27am, Clay Schroeder and Mark Lijewski would score on a 38" muskie. The team of Eric Dombeck and Nelson Eisele would score on a 35.25" muskie at 7:30am. Kevin and Scott Abendroth got in to the action with a 40.25" at 8:20am. The husband and wife team of James and Davene Holloway would tally a nice 40.75" muskie at 11:30am, and following shortly after was the team of Greg Kliss and Phil Amstadt at 11:31am with an inch bigger muskie measuring 41.75". The big fish of the tournament and the eventual winner would score in at 45 inches at 1:19pm, the only fish to be scored in the afternoon, by the team of Bob Dekker and Randy Pearson.

The WMT's Boom Lake "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ top five finishers were:

1st - Bob Dekker/Randy Pearson
2nd - Phil Amstadt/Greg Kliss
3rd - Gary Tutaj/Doug Dollhopf
4th - James & Davene Holloway
5th - Scott & Kevin Abendroth

The next tournament for the WMT is a "MAJOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP"™ event on the Manitowish Chain of Lakes this weekend of August 22nd and 23rd. There are still some spots open for the tourney. If you would like to fish the "R.A.M.M. CUP OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP"™ tournament on the Manitowish Chain, you can sign up for the tourney on Friday, August 21st at the Little Bohemia Lodge on HWY 51 between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Like last year, we are certain that the WMT's Manitowish Chain of Lakes tournament will produce a bunch of muskies during the event providing plenty of action for the competitors.
