Dunbar and Severson Win WMT's Phillips Chain Event


The Wisconsin Muskie Tour™ (WMT) hosted the Phillips Chain of Lakes "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ on Saturday, May 30th. Even though the condition weren't exactly ideal, the muskies would be active making for a very exciting day of muskie angling. There would be twelve muskies registered during the Phillips Chain of Lakes "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ qualifier.

The first muskie to be registered for the day, and it was the biggest muskie for the competition, would be captured by the team of Keith Krejci and Robbie Resch with a dandy 46.25 incher at 6:45am. Brandon Dunbar and Alan Severson would land a 39.50" muskie at 7:27am. At 8:02am, Tom Wilson and Jim Komar would tally a hefty 44.75 inch muskie that would eventually give the team a fourth place finish. The father and son team of Brandle and Luke Ruberg would score on an impressive 44.25 inch muskie at 9:12am. Dunbar and Severson would be the first team to double up for the day at 10:53am with a 38.25 incher. The final team to score two for the event would be Dean and Kevin Miller with catches of 38.25 inches at 8:30am and at 2:58pm with a 38 incher.

Other teams to score on muskies for the Phillips Chain "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ were: John Kleczewski & Chuck Lamaide 41" at 8:49am, Marcus Malyuk & Ben Bain 39" at 10:46am, Darrel Hill & Leo Trzesniak 39.25" at 10:58am, Brandon Leinon & Troy Retzlaff 42.50" at 2:49pm, and Geno Bolton & Troy Henderson 34.50" at 1:19pm.

The WMT's Phillips Chain "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ top five finishers were:
1st - Brandon Dunbar/Alan Severson
2nd - Dean & Kevin Miller
3rd - Keith Krejci/Robbie Resch
4th - Jim Komar/Tom Wilson
5th - Brandle & Luke Ruberg

The next tournament for the WMT is a "MAJOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP"™ event on the Three Lakes Chain this weekend of June 6th and 7th. There are still some spots open for the tourney. If you would like to fish the "BADGERLAND OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP"™ tournament on the Three Lakes Chain, you can sign up for the tourney on Friday, June 5th at the Big Stone Golf Course on HWY 32 between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Like last year, we are certain that the WMT's Three Lakes Chain tournament will produce a bunch of muskies during the event provide plenty of action for the competitors.
