Lijewski and Schroeder Win at Sand/Dam Lake Chain


The Wisconsin Muskie Tour™ (WMT) Sand/Dam Lake Chain "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ tournament on Sunday, August 16th, produced eleven muskies for the one day event. The evening weather storm front before the event ushered in cooler air temps that peaked out at 72 degrees and high winds that provided steady action throughout the day for the competitors at the Sand/Dam Lake Chain's "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™.

The first muskie to be registered for the day would be captured by the team of Phil Amstadt and Greg Kliss at 6:57am with a 36.50". At 7:47am, Brad Jorgensen and Curt Mohney would score on a 38.50" muskie. At 9:38am, Even and Buck Derleth would score on a dandy 44.50" muskie. Scoring on a very nice muskie of their own would be the team of Scott Lewandowski and Dan Dassow with a 40.25" at 9:58am. Mark Lijewski and Clay Schroeder would tally a 41.50" muskie at 10:08am and by 11:22am, the duo would double up with another muskie of 37.25". The big fish of the tournament would be a monster fish of 47.50" at 11:14am, scored by the team of Dan Sheehan and Scott Gindt. The final muskie of the contest would be captured by the team who scored the first of the day, Amstadt and Kliss measured a 35.50" at 2:37pm.

Other teams to score on muskies for the WMT’s Sand/Dam Lake Chain "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ event were:

Ryan Bock & Tyler Maney 38.25" at 11:20am, James Holloway and Jim Olson 35.50" at 11:23am, and Tony Piantek and Bill Vierkandt 36.25" at 11:45am.

The WMT's Sand/Dam Lake Chain "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ top five finishers were:

1st - Mark Lijewski/Clay Schroeder
2nd - Phil Amstadt/Greg Kliss
3rd - Scott Gindt/Dan Sheehan
4th - Even & Buck Derleth
5th - Scott Lewandowski/Dan Dassow

The next tournament for the WMT is a "MAJOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP"™ event on the Manitowish Chain of Lakes this weekend of August 22nd and 23rd. There are still some spots open for the tourney. If you would like to fish the "R.A.M.M. CUP OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP™" tournament on the Manitowish Chain, you can sign up for the tourney on Friday, August 21st at the Little Bohemia Lodge on HWY 51 between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Like last year, we are certain that the WMT's Manitowish Chain of Lakes tournament will produce a bunch of muskies during the event providing plenty of action for the competitors.
