McCrea and Primich's Impresive Double Wins the Twins

The Wisconsin Muskie Tour™ (WMT) North/South Twin Lakes "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ qualifier on Monday, May 25th would have 17 muskies tallied by the competitors. Even though a severe cold front would pass through the area the night before, the warming sun of the day would help in the muskies attitudes as the day progressed.

The first of the day would come early as the team of Nate and Ron Jones would score on a 39.50" muskie at 6:35am. However, the early success of the Jones' didn't pass on to other anglers as they struggled to put fish "on the board". At 8:39am, Ryan Bock and Tyler Maney would score on a very nice 41 incher to take the early lead. First place would change hands at 10:40am when Jason McCrea and Marti Primich would tally the largest muskie of the contest with a hefty 45 incher. By 10:43am, the first team to double for the event would be Andy and Kathy Regenfuss when they landed a 39" muskie to go along with their earlier catch of 38.25" inches at 8:44am. The second team to double up for the tournament would be the team of Matt Raley and Jeff VanRemortel with catches of 37.25" at 10:50am along with a 37.75" at 12:56am. The Regenfuss's lead held up until 2:50pm, when the team of McCrea and Primich scored their second with a 43.25". The last team to tally two muskie on the day was Even and Buck Derleth at 3:00pm with a beautiful 44.25", to add to their previous catch of 37" at 1:23pm.

Other teams to score on muskie for the North/South Twin Lakes "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ event were: Dan Lewein & Greg Haluska 39.75" at 9:13am, Ken & Mark Carlson 40.50" at 10:05am, Benji Wood/Rob Rottier 35.75" at 10:37am, Chad Popp/Al King 36.25" at 11:40am, Chas & Chris Martin 38.50" at 11:50am, Ryan & Ron Meyer 36" at 12:43pm, and Bob Fisher/Brian Blettner 40.25" at 3:00pm.

The WMT's North/South Twin Lakes "MUSKIE DOUBLE HEADER"™ top five finishers were:
1st - Jason McCrea/Marti Primich
2nd - Even & Buck Derleth
3rd - Andy & Kathy Regenfuss
4th - Matt Raley/Jeff VanRemortel
