$50,000.00 Muskie Triple Crown™

The Muskie Triple Crown™ is similar to the Muskie Grand Slam™ that the WMT introduced to the muskie world in 2005, but as the name would imply, there are three legs to the bonus. If a team should win a Major Open Championship, the Lapp Trophy, and the WMT Invitational Championship in the same year, that team will receive a $30,000.00 cash bonus and a three year paid tour exemption totaling a bonus of $50,000.00. During the three year paid tour exemption, the team would have a potential future earings that would total over 1.75 million dollars.

The WMT will host three Major Open Championship that are open to the public to compete in:

Badgerland Open Championship™ / Three Lakes Chain - June 7 & 8

R.A.M.M. Cup Open Championship™ / Manitowish Chain - August 16 & 17

Autumn Classic Open Championship™ / Minocqua Chain - September 13 & 14

The season ending WMT Invitational Championship will be held September 27 & 28.

The results of the first seven years of the WMT would indicate that it would be possible for a team to win the Muskie Triple Crown™ by concentrating their tournament efforts on the Major Open Championships™ and the Invitational. A total of sixteen muskies can be registered in the four two-day events on the 2008 WMT schedule which would be the most ever recorded by a WMT team in a single season and would be sure to give a that team the Muskie Triple Crown™ bonus.
