For the first time ever, the Wisconsin Muskie Tour (WMT) hosted a muskie tournament on the Three Lakes Chain on August 26-27th. The tournament anglers enjoyed the fast action on the Chain, reeling in 42 muskies during the competition.

The first muskie of the event would come in at 6:23am by Josh and Lon Behm, measuring 36 ? inches. The largest muskie registered for the weekend would score at 44 ? inches at 10:15am Saturday by Phil Schweik and Pete Hilman. The team of Ryan Bock and Tyler Maney would be the first team to double-up for the contest when they measured a 43 inch lunker at 9:44am, to add to their earlier catch of 41 ? inches at 8:16am. The team would retain a first place lead throughout Saturday. At 11:30am, Robert and Eric Larsen scored on their second muskie of the day, a 34 inch muskie, to add to the 35 ? incher the duo had measured at 10:36am. The team of Lionel Kliss and Jeremy Barber also tallied two muskies with a 36 ? incher at 7:26am and a 41 ? beauty at 1:52pm. The final team to double-up for the Saturday competition would be Troy Shulfer and Scott Cisewski, with a 34 incher at 6:26am and a 35 ? at 3:07pm.

The second day of the event would see very different weather conditions with clear blue skies, in contrast to the cloudy conditions of the previous day. The father and son team of George and Patrick Kingsland would find the conditions favorable as they would score on their second muskie of the contest at 8:10am, a 34 ? incher to add to their Saturday catch of 35 ? inches. But the team wasn't done when they scored on their third muskie of 37 ? inches at 10:15am. The Kingsland's would fall two inches short of victory when Cisewski and Shulfer had scored on their third muskie earlier in the day at 7:25am, measuring a 40 ? incher that would give the team the victory. At 9:32am, Behm and Behm would tally their second fish for the contest, a 34 incher that would land the team an eighth place finish. John Bennett and Brent Kiedrowski would also double-up when they measured a 37 ? inch muskie at 6:49am, to add to their Saturday catch of 36 ? inches. Finishing in sixth place would be Jason Baratka and Brandon Dunbar when they measured a 35 ? incher at 11:03am, to add to their previous day's catch of 41 inches. The last team to double-up for the contest, with just 10 minutes left in the competition, would be the father-son team of Tim and Tyler Rutzen. They measured a 38 ? incher to go with their Saturday catch of 38 ? inches, caught at 9:23am.
